2009 Magazine Report – Year 10 work Experience

The work choices were very varied this year. This year, nine of the girls found their own placements with the remainder being placed by BEST. We accommodated two girls in the Lower School with Years 1 & 2; this proved to be very successful for both girls involved. All the girls worked hard and enjoyed what they were doing. Work Experience should be as it states an “experience” and it was good to see the girls embrace this idea.... continued below.

Seung Youn, Anastasia and Alicia who worked at Greenmead School and The Paddock School found the work with severely disabled children very rewarding, so much so that they want to try and fit in a time to return. Olivia who worked at Long Tall Sally has designed a garment which is going to be made up, a pity she isn’t there to see the finished product!
I am delighted with the positive feedback from employers and I hope the girls now realise the importance of having such an experience and will try to find a placement for themselves at the end of Year 11.
