Mrs Julia Leon who had been at Putney Park since October 1991, passed away on Friday 24th October 2008.
Mrs Leon had been unwell for two years. Her bravery and determination during that time were an inspiration to us all. She was in school until a couple of weeks before she died, saying that it is where she preferred to be.
Mrs Leon is sorely missed for the kindness and care she showed others, her dedication to Putney Park and for her incredible sense of humour. We are very lucky to have had her at Putney Park for 17 years.
Miss France Varichon joined the Modern Languages department, coming from Central Foundation for Boys’ School.
Mr Robert Carlin joined the Music Department in October 2008 to cover Mrs Tomlinson’s maternity leave. We are delighted that he is staying with us on a part-time basis, following Mrs Tomlinson’s return. In addition to his teaching career, Mr Carlin has 20 years’ experience as an opera and oratorio singer and is Musical Director of St Helen’s Church, North Kensington.
Miss Stephanie Minshull-Beech spent a year with us as Year 1 teaching assistant after completing her degree course at the University of Leeds. She leaves us to take her PGCE at Roehampton University. We wish her well.
Mrs Julie Mason-Jebb leaves our Learning Support Team. We will miss her.
